Job title: Junior Wood Machinist
Salary: £9.00 – £11.00 per hour dependant on experience
Benefits: 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays, pension
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5pm, 42.5 hour week – additional & weekend hours are often available
Location: Aston Down Business Park
Duration: Permanent
The Role:
An exciting opportunity to join a young, friendly, successful and ambitious manufacturing company. The junior wood machinist role offers an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of the team on a permanent basis.
You will be working alongside the senior machinist/ production manager as you learn our ranges and develop your skill sets
Responsibilities:
The role will involve a number of tasks fundamental in the machining of wooden products of varying shapes & sizes which include, but not limited to, the use of:
| • Cross Cut Saw | • Planer |
| • Panel Saw | • 4 Sided planer |
| • Band Saw | • Overhead Router |
| • Rip Saw | • Drum Sander |
| • Spindle Moulder |
You will also have responsibility for the cleaning of your equipment and general cleanliness & organisation of the production department.
The candidate:
The successful candidate will, ideally, have a track record of wood machining in a professional environment.
Ideally the machinist would have relevant qualifications although this is not essential and previous on the job training would be sufficient.
Experience within a wood manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
